Rating: T
Summary:Astrea thought she could pull off a trust fall with Beimnech
Author’s Note: never forget

“Y-you what?!”

There stood Elodie as she eyed the sparkling remains of her companion splattered on him, Beimnech equally eyeing her with a tired look on his face.

“It appears I may have overestimated dear Rea’s strength and it lead to me…crushing her under my weight, enough that she combusted into a million of tiny stars, I have to admit it was quite the sight”

Elodie resisted the urge to pull her hair, or his hair, in frustration as Beimnech began to dust off his clothing. “I can’t believe this, Beimnech! You are double the size of us combined, how could you have let her make the attempt to carry you?!”

Beimnech raised an eyebrow and gave her an attempt at an innocent smile,“How could I have not? She was more than enthused to prove to me that she can carry me, that I didn’t have the heart to refuse her.”

Elodie glared at him, knowing full well that wasn’t quite the truth, but decided against continuing to argue as she knew that they could take hours going back and forth with each other. She needed to remedy this dilemma right away to bring her friend back, but how she wondered….unless.

“Beimnech.”

“Hm?”

“Bring me my chalks while I go look for my tomes, please.”

“I beg your pardon?” He stared.

“You heard me, make yourself useful and help me set up my summoning circle.” She pushed him along to the direction of her bedroom, Beinmech allowing himself to be pushed but still not quite understanding why he was being involved .

“For what purpose? Are you aching for a new pet despite the abundance of tiny companions you have?” He chuckled. Elodie merely gave him a wide smile, showing off her misshapen teeth that had him freeze in familiar uncertainty.

~ “Is this satisfactory for you?”

Elodie looked up from studying the contents in her tome to look at the plain white circle he had drawn on the ground. “I’ve seen better shaped circles drawn by children…,” Beinmech twitched,… “ but yes it will do, thank you.”

Beinmech stood back to watch as she began drawing intricate markings inside the circle and silently considered telling her that maybe their efforts would be better spent waiting for Rea to just rebirth and come back to them brand new. He decided against it as he was curious if maybe Elodie for once will summon something worthwhile so he continued watching.

‘If by any miracle she manages to summon entire milletians, we could have an entire army at our disposal.’ He smiled at the thought.

“There,” Elodie stood up to look at her handiwork and to make sure she drew it exactly as it was shown in her book, “..now I just have to chant the following spell…and wave my arm like this and…” she began to perform her incantation and Beimnech watched as the summoning circle glowed a fluorescent blue. He saw a familiar shape begin to take form and he thought for a split that maybe Elodie finally achieved a perfect summoning until the shape began to glow more immensely. He shielded his eyes and Elodie did the same.

When the light finally subsided, they both turned towards the summoning circle and were left speechless by what they saw.

“You should send that back.”

“But Beimnech! She’s so cute!” Elodie exclaimed, snuggling a fluffy white sheep with bright blue eyes that shared a striking resemblance to Rea. Beimnech merely sighed, disappointed in himself for getting his hopes up that the heroine would finally be able to manage to summon something that wasn’t a farm animal.

“We can’t keep her like this forever,” Elodie pouted in a way that silently said ‘yes we could’. He ignored her pout and continued, “…so you should send her back and let her rebirth as normal.”

Rea let out a sullen bleep as if in agreement with him and Elodie sighed. She knew he was right, as he normally was but she won’t let him be aware of it. Besides, she still much preferred her friend in human form, and Beep might attempt to murder her by infinite peckings in her sleep.
